Anthony, Lucy, Chatham & Lucinda Napoli are proud to introduce you to Pegram Golden Retrievers and German Wirehaired Pointers. Our love for these dogs began with Goldens in 1994 when we purchased our first Golden, Elliott. Since then, our family has certainly grown and we started competing with our Golden Retrievers in both the confirmation and obedience arena as our family enjoyment!
As soon as Chatham and Lucinda were old enough to compete in the AKC Junior Showmanship events, our participation and commitment in this sport changed immensely. Competing with our dogs has since become an activity that involves the entire family and makes for many fun camping trips in the RV!
Chatham and Lucinda started showing competitively in 2005 in Juniors, as well as the breed ring. Chatham and Lucinda's handling began with the help and expertise of John and Megan Mello. Then the girls started apprenticing in 2008 for Greg and Jane Myers until they retired at the end of 2013. They have collectively won over 150 Best in Show wins and 13 National Specialty wins with 8 different breeds. Chatham and Lucinda worked for Greg and Jane Myers as often as they could as much as school would permit. Over the years, our dogs have been exclusively shown by Chatham and Lucinda with great success!
We cannot have "Our Family" page without mentioning Toni Norton and her willingness to let us have our first show dog "Fenway" GCH Pawnee’s Baby Ruth – Toni put a lot of trust in us and in Chatham to show Fenway in both the breed and juniors ring. Well, Chatham sure did make Toni proud! She piloted him to a Group 1 from the classes during the infamous January circuit at the time and finished his Champion title with a five point specialty major. This was done before Fenway was three years old and Chatham was only 13 years old.
In May of 2010, we welcomed another addition to our Golden Retriever family thanks to Jane Myers and Erika Bigott of De La Vega Golden Retrievers, “Michael” MBISS GCH De La Vega Orange I Fabulous BISS. Michael completed his championship before he was 17 months and Lucinda just turned 13 at the time. He finished his Grand Championship before he was 23 months old. Every point was junior/owner handled by Lucinda.
Fast forward to the summer of 2012, Chatham and Lucinda were helping Greg and Jane at River's Edge Pet Resort between shows and Lucinda fell in love with a German Wirehaired Pointer named "Tiger" GCH Darnelle's Makin' The Shot. What we did not realize was that this love they shared would make us fall in love with the breed. Explore our website to see more memories, the fun we currently have with our dogs, and the future of protecting these breeds.
Thank you and enjoy your visit.
